Could RPL Be Right for You?

Experience can be evidence.

RPL is the process that helps you demonstrate it.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a formal assessment process that evaluates the skills, knowledge, and experience you've gained through your career to determine whether you meet the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification. It isn't a shortcut — it applies the same assessment standards as any other pathway.

RPL typically involves:

📋

A review of your work experience against the qualification requirements

💼

Compilation of an evidence portfolio demonstrating your competency

👤

Assessment by a qualified assessor from a Registered Training Organisation

🎯

If gaps are identified, targeted training to build on your existing expertise

ℹ️ Important Pathway Advice

RPL isn't the right pathway for everyone. If you don't have substantial, relevant, and current industry experience, a traditional study pathway may serve you better.

Our approach:

“We'd rather guide you to the right pathway than enrol you in the wrong one.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about this qualification and RPL.

When will RPL for this qualification be available?
We are currently in the process of establishing partnerships with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) that specialise in arts administration. By registering your interest, you will be notified the moment a recognition pathway is opened.
Why should I register my interest now?
Registering helps us demonstrate the demand for this qualification to our RTO partners. It also ensures you are placed at the front of the queue for a free skills review once the assessment process is finalised.
Is RPL the same as studying for the certificate?
No. While traditional study teaches you new skills, RPL recognises the skills you already possess. It is recognition of your existing expertise, not a repetition of your prior learning.
Can I use administrative experience from other industries?
While general administrative skills are highly relevant, the assessor will look for evidence of how you apply those skills within an arts or cultural context, such as communicating with creative professionals or managing venue-specific risks.
What if I have gaps in my evidence portfolio?
If an assessor identifies areas where your evidence doesn't fully meet the national standard, the RTO will provide targeted gap training. This allows you to complete the qualification without having to start the entire course from scratch.
