About This Qualification
This qualification reflects the role of individuals who have highly specialised technical, creative and conceptual skills in visual communication to conceive, negotiate and realise design solutions. Practice at this level is underpinned by the application of visual communication and design theory and history and the ability to critically analyse and synthesise information from a range of sources.
Important: RPL It Australia is a student support service. All assessment and qualification issuance is conducted by the delivering Registered Training Organisation. RPL It does not deliver training, conduct assessments, or issue qualifications.

What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

Is recognition the same as completing the course through study?
Yes. Recognition of Prior Learning assesses your existing evidence against the same national standards as the traditional study pathway. The resulting qualification is identical and carries equal weight in the industry.
What if my best work is under a non-disclosure agreement?
This is common at the advanced diploma level. We can guide you on how to provide redacted evidence, third-party verification letters, or other methods to demonstrate your competency without breaching your professional obligations.
Does this qualification require management experience?
The Advanced Diploma focuses on high-level conceptual skills and the business of design. While it often aligns with senior or lead roles, the focus is on your ability to manage design realisation and complex briefs rather than just managing people.
