What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

We are currently in the process of establishing partnerships with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) that specialise in creative arts. By registering your interest, you will be the first to know when we can begin guiding you through the assessment process.
Why should I register my interest now?
Registering allows us to gauge industry demand and prioritise which RTO partnerships we finalise first. It also ensures you receive early guidance on the types of evidence you should begin gathering from your current productions.
Is RPL for an Advanced Diploma the same as studying it?
The outcome is identical. Whether you achieve the qualification through study or RPL, the certificate is issued by a Registered Training Organisation and is nationally recognised. RPL simply focuses on assessing what you already know rather than teaching you new skills.
What are the entry requirements for this level?
To be well-positioned for an Advanced Diploma, you should be able to demonstrate technical production skills at an AQF level 6 or above. This typically involves showing you can develop complex solutions and provide a body of work that meets current industry standards.
Does this qualification cover both technical and management roles?
Yes, it is designed for those who apply creative skills and theoretical knowledge in management contexts, such as Stage Managers, Venue Managers, and Art Directors across the creative arts sector.
