Could RPL Be Right for You?

Experience can be evidence.

RPL is the process that helps you demonstrate it.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a formal assessment process that evaluates the skills, knowledge, and experience you've gained through your career to determine whether you meet the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification. It isn't a shortcut — it applies the same assessment standards as any other pathway.

RPL typically involves:

📋

A review of your work experience against the qualification requirements

💼

Compilation of an evidence portfolio demonstrating your competency

👤

Assessment by a qualified assessor from a Registered Training Organisation

🎯

If gaps are identified, targeted training to build on your existing expertise

ℹ️ Important Pathway Advice

RPL isn't the right pathway for everyone. If you don't have substantial, relevant, and current industry experience, a traditional study pathway may serve you better.

Our approach:

“We'd rather guide you to the right pathway than enrol you in the wrong one.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about this qualification and RPL.

When will RPL for this qualification be available?
We are currently in the process of auditing and establishing partnerships with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) that specialise in pest management. This ensures the assessment you receive is rigorous and respected by the industry.
Why should I register my interest now?
Registering ensures you are notified immediately once a suitable RTO partner is secured. It also allows us to understand the demand for this qualification, helping us prioritise the development of the evidence portfolio guides.
Is RPL the same as completing a training course?
RPL is an assessment-only pathway. It does not teach you new skills; rather, it provides a structured way for a qualified assessor to verify that your existing experience meets the national standards for the CPP30119 qualification.
What if I have experience but no formal chemical logs?
The RPL process requires evidence of your competency. If you lack specific documentation, your consultant can guide you on alternative ways to demonstrate your skills, such as third-party testimonials or practical demonstrations for an assessor.
Will my previous pest control licence count as evidence?
While a licence indicates you have met regulatory requirements, the RPL process looks at the specific units of competency within CPP30119. Your licence can certainly form part of your evidence portfolio to support your application.
Can I apply if I work as a sole trader?
Yes. Sole traders often have excellent evidence in the form of service agreements, client invoices, and equipment maintenance records. We can help you organise these into a portfolio that reflects your professional expertise.
