About This Qualification
This qualification reflects the role of sign manufacturers who design and produce signs and graphics for a range of purposes. Signs and graphics can be produced using a range of traditional and contemporary techniques, often involving the use of advanced printing software and technology, and a range of methods for illumination and fabrication.
Important: RPL It Australia is a student support service. All assessment and qualification issuance is conducted by the delivering Registered Training Organisation. RPL It does not deliver training, conduct assessments, or issue qualifications.

What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

Is RPL the same as doing a signwriting course?
Recognition of Prior Learning is an assessment-only pathway. It does not involve new learning; instead, it is a process of proving you already possess the competencies required by the national standard through your existing work experience.
What if my experience is mostly in digital printing rather than hand-painting?
The modern CPC30216 qualification reflects both traditional and contemporary techniques. Your skills in digital sign production, vinyl application, and LED installation are highly relevant to the current industry standards.
Can I use photos of my work as evidence?
Yes, high-quality photographs of signs you have designed, fabricated, or installed are excellent forms of evidence. They help demonstrate your practical competency to an assessor in a way that documents alone cannot.
