This qualification reflects the role of a person installing, maintaining and repairing flashings, metal roof and wall claddings and rainwater products such as gutters and downpipes, and other accessories on residential, industrial and commercial buildings. Occupational titles could include: Roof plumber This qualification includes units of competency common to other qualifications in the plumbing industry as well as roof plumbing specialist units of competency and can provide a pathway to further learning and work in the plumbing industry. The plumbing industry strongly affirms that training and assessment leading to recognition of skills must be undertaken in a real or closely simulated workplace environment and this qualification requires all units of competency to be delivered and assessed in this context. Completion of the general construction induction training program specified by the model Code of Practice for Construction Work is required before entering a construction work site. Achievement of CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry meets this requirement. This is a licenced occupation. Yes, if you hold a qualification or Statement of Attainment that includes units equivalent to units in this qualification. This is called credit transfer. The delivering RTO checks your AQF certification documents or authenticated VET transcript. Where a unit is equivalent and your certification is authenticated, the RTO must grant credit for it. It can refuse only on limited grounds, for example where a licensing or regulatory requirement calls for reassessment.
