About This Qualification
This qualification reflects the roles of individuals across different aspects of the greyhound industry. This includes, but is not limited to, trainers, breeders and any full time workers or workers who want a career in the industry.
Important: RPL It Australia is a student support service. All assessment and qualification issuance is conducted by the delivering Registered Training Organisation. RPL It does not deliver training, conduct assessments, or issue qualifications.

What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

When will RPL for the Certificate III in Racing (Greyhound) be available?
We are currently in the process of identifying and partnering with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) that specialise in the RGR training package. By registering your interest, you will be the first to know when a formal assessment pathway is established.
Why should I register my interest now?
Registering allows us to gauge industry demand and expedite the partnership process with relevant RTOs. It also ensures you receive early guidance on gathering your evidence, making the eventual assessment process smoother.
Is RPL the same as completing a greyhound racing course?
RPL focuses on the recognition of the skills you already possess rather than teaching you new ones. While the qualification issued is the same as one earned through study, the process involves a qualified assessor evaluating your existing evidence to determine competency.
Does this qualification cover greyhound rehoming and welfare?
Yes, the core units of this qualification focus heavily on the health, welfare, and ethical rehoming of greyhounds. Your experience in these areas is vital evidence for the assessment process.
I have been an owner-trainer for years; does that count?
Your experience as a licensed owner-trainer is highly relevant. The skills you have developed in handling, nutrition, and trial preparation align directly with several units in the Certificate III in Racing (Greyhound).
