About This Qualification
This qualification reflects the role of individuals working as meat inspectors or meat safety officers in meat processing establishments. In such roles, workers perform ante mortem (except in the case of wild game) and post-mortem inspection of food animals to ensure that meat is safe for human or pet consumption, in line with relevant Australian Standards.
Important: RPL it Australia is a student support service. All assessment and qualification issuance is conducted by the delivering Registered Training Organisation. RPL it does not deliver training, conduct assessments, or issue qualifications.

What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

Is an RPL qualification the same as one from full-time study?
Yes. A qualification achieved through Recognition of Prior Learning is identical to one earned through traditional study. It is issued by a Registered Training Organisation and meets the same national standards, as it assesses the same competencies.
Does this qualification cover work in export premises?
While the Certificate III in Meat Safety Inspection is the industry standard, work in export premises often requires specific elective units. We will guide you in selecting the evidence that aligns with the specific requirements of the Australian Government export authority.
How do I prove my skills in disease identification?
Evidence can include workplace reports where you have identified and recorded diseases or conditions, logs of carcass dispositions, or verification from a senior inspector or veterinarian who has observed your work.
What if I work with wild game rather than livestock?
