Could RPL Be Right for You?

Experience can be evidence.

RPL is the process that helps you demonstrate it.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a formal assessment process that evaluates the skills, knowledge, and experience you've gained through your career to determine whether you meet the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification. It isn't a shortcut — it applies the same assessment standards as any other pathway.

RPL typically involves:

📋

A review of your work experience against the qualification requirements

💼

Compilation of an evidence portfolio demonstrating your competency

👤

Assessment by a qualified assessor from a Registered Training Organisation

🎯

If gaps are identified, targeted training to build on your existing expertise

ℹ️ Important Pathway Advice

RPL isn't the right pathway for everyone. If you don't have substantial, relevant, and current industry experience, a traditional study pathway may serve you better.

Our approach:

“We'd rather guide you to the right pathway than enrol you in the wrong one.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about this qualification and RPL.

Is this qualification currently available through RPL It Australia?
We are currently in the process of establishing partnerships with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) for this specific qualification. While not immediately available for enrolment, we are actively working to bring this pathway to our candidates.
Why should I register my interest now?
Registering your interest allows us to notify you as soon as an RTO partner is secured. It also helps us demonstrate the demand for this qualification to our partners, which can accelerate the availability of the RPL pathway.
Is RPL the same as completing a training course?
No. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is an assessment-only pathway that recognises the skills you have already acquired through work and life experience. It avoids the need for repetitive study of things you already know, though an assessor may identify specific gaps that require targeted training.
What streams are covered in this manufacturing qualification?
The Certificate III in Manufacturing Technology supports several streams, including CAD/drafting, manufacturing operations, laboratory operations, metallurgy, and polymer technology. Your evidence would be assessed against the specific requirements of your chosen stream.
What happens if I hold a Certificate III in Engineering?
The national training package notes that requirements for this qualification may also be met by holders of the Certificate III in Engineering - Technician. We can help you explore how your existing credentials align with this manufacturing qualification once the pathway is open.
Who conducts the final assessment of my evidence?
All formal assessments are conducted by qualified assessors from one of our partner Registered Training Organisations. Our role is to guide you in preparing and presenting your evidence to meet their rigorous standards.
