About This Qualification
This qualification covers competencies to select, install, set up, test, fault find, repair and maintain telecommunications and high-performance data services in buildings and premises. It includes Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) requirements for Open Cabler Registration.
Important: RPL It Australia is a student support service. All assessment and qualification issuance is conducted by the delivering Registered Training Organisation. RPL It does not deliver training, conduct assessments, or issue qualifications.

What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

Is this qualification currently available for RPL?
We are currently in the process of establishing partnerships with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) specifically for the Certificate III in Data and Voice Communications. We are not yet accepting formal enrolments for this qualification.

Is RPL the same as completing a training course?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment of the skills you have already acquired through years of work. It is not a training course; it is a process of demonstrating that your existing experience meets the national standard.
Does this qualification cover ACMA requirements?
The Certificate III in Data and Voice Communications includes competencies aligned with the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) requirements for Open Cabler Registration, though registration itself is handled by ACMA-approved registrars.
What happens if I have gaps in my evidence?
If the RTO's assessor identifies areas where your evidence does not fully cover the qualification requirements, our partners provide targeted gap training. This allows you to build on your existing foundation rather than repeating what you already know.
