About This Qualification
This is a qualification for those engaged in driving operation job roles within the transport and logistics industry. It involves a prescribed range of tasks involving known routines and procedures and taking some accountability for the quality of work outcomes.
Important: RPL It Australia is a student support service. All assessment and qualification issuance is conducted by the delivering Registered Training Organisation. RPL It does not deliver training, conduct assessments, or issue qualifications.

What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

Is this qualification currently available through RPL it?
We are currently in the process of establishing partnerships with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) for this specific qualification. It is not yet available for active enrolment, but we are accepting registrations of interest.
Why should I register my interest?
Registering your interest helps us prioritise which qualifications we bring online first. You will be the first to be notified as soon as a partner RTO is ready to begin assessments for the Certificate II in Driving Operations.
Is an RPL qualification the same as one from full-time study?
Yes. Whether achieved through study or recognition of prior learning, the qualification is issued by a Registered Training Organisation and meets the same national standards. It is equally recognised by employers and regulators.
Will this qualification help me get a Heavy Rigid or Taxi licence?
The qualification contains units that align with licensing requirements, such as fatigue management and vehicle inspections. However, you must still meet the specific practical and medical criteria set by your state's transport authority to be granted a licence.
What if I have experience but limited paperwork?
A lack of formal paperwork does not mean your experience isn't valid. We can guide you on alternative forms of evidence, such as statutory declarations from supervisors, photos of your work, or practical demonstrations of your skills.
Does this qualification cover Chain of Responsibility?
Yes, elective units within this qualification specifically address the safety of transport activities and Chain of Responsibility requirements, which are critical for modern transport operations.
