About This Qualification
This qualification is an introductory qualification to the automotive retail, service and repair industries and an entry to further training in several sectors. It is designed for application in a highly supervised context, such as VET in Schools (VETiS) or other equivalent introduction or induction to industry environments.
Important: RPL It Australia is a student support service. All assessment and qualification issuance is conducted by the delivering Registered Training Organisation. RPL It does not deliver training, conduct assessments, or issue qualifications.

What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

Is this qualification currently available through RPL it?
We are currently in the process of establishing partnerships with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) for this specific qualification. While not yet live, registering your interest ensures you are the first to know when the assessment pathway opens.
Why should I register my interest?
Registering allows us to gauge demand and accelerate the partnership process. It also places you on a priority list for a free skills review as soon as we have a delivery partner ready to assess your experience.
Is an RPL qualification the same as one from full-time study?
Yes. A qualification earned through Recognition of Prior Learning is identical to one earned through traditional study. It is issued by a Registered Training Organisation and meets the same national standards.
Who is this introductory qualification designed for?
This is an entry-level qualification often used by those entering the industry for the first time, including VET in Schools students or individuals working in assistant roles who want to formalise their basic workshop knowledge.
What happens if I have experience beyond this level?
If your experience covers more complex repairs or diagnostic work, we may guide you toward a Certificate II or III in a specific automotive stream once those pathways are available.
