About This Qualification
This qualification reflects the role of individuals such as open cut or underground metalliferous mine managers, who perform tasks that are broad, specialised, complex and technical and include strategic areas and initiating activities. They are required to demonstrate self-directed application of theoretical and technical knowledge and initiate solutions to technical problems or management requirements.
Important: RPL It Australia is a student support service. All assessment and qualification issuance is conducted by the delivering Registered Training Organisation. RPL It does not deliver training, conduct assessments, or issue qualifications.

What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

We are currently in the partnership development phase for the Advanced Diploma of Metalliferous Mining. By registering your interest, you will be the first to know when we have secured a partnership with a Registered Training Organisation capable of assessing this senior qualification.

Is RPL the same as a traditional study pathway?
The standards are identical, but the evidence is different. RPL recognises what you have already achieved through years of site leadership, allowing you to demonstrate competency through work history and documentation rather than repeating learning you already possess.
What happens if my experience doesn't cover a specific unit?
If an assessor identifies a gap in your evidence; for example, in explosives safety management; targeted gap training can be provided. This ensures you meet the full requirements of the qualification without needing to start the entire course from scratch.
How do you handle the confidentiality of my site documents?
We understand that mining management involves sensitive data. We guide you on how to redact commercially sensitive information while still providing the necessary evidence of your management and compliance capabilities.
