About This Qualification
This qualification covers competencies to design and validate/evaluate refrigeration and air conditioning equipment and systems, manage risk, estimate and manage projects and provide technical advice/sales. It includes regulatory requirements for purchasing and handling refrigerants.
Important: RPL It Australia is a student support service. All assessment and qualification issuance is conducted by the delivering Registered Training Organisation. RPL It does not deliver training, conduct assessments, or issue qualifications.

What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

We are currently in the process of establishing partnerships with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) that hold this specific qualification on their scope. By registering your interest, you will be the first to know when the pathway is open for assessment.
Why should I register my interest now?
Registering allows us to gauge demand for this high-level engineering qualification and prioritise the onboarding of suitable RTO partners. It also ensures you receive early access to the skills review process once the pathway is active.
Is RPL for an Advanced Diploma the same as studying for one?
Yes. Regardless of the pathway, the qualification issued is the same nationally recognised document. RPL simply assesses your existing experience against the national standards to determine if you have already achieved the required competencies.
Does this qualification cover restricted electrical licensing?
Yes, the core units include restricted electrical requirements for work on electrical installations designed to operate at voltages greater than 50V a.c. or 120V d.c., which is essential for senior refrigeration technicians.
How does this relate to the ARC Refrigerant Handling Licence?
The achievement of this qualification meets the training components required for the full national Refrigerant Handling Licence, which is mandatory for handling fluorocarbon refrigerants in Australia.
