About This Qualification
This course is intended to provide participants with the knowledge skills required to lead in a crisis. The course will challenge participants to explore their own leadership styles and rethink traditional models of leadership in the context of rapidly changing crisis environments.

What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

We are currently in the process of identifying and partnering with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) that specialise in crisis leadership. By registering your interest, you will be the first to know when a compliant and rigorous RPL pathway is established.

Registering interest allows us to gauge the demand for this specific qualification within the public safety sector. It also ensures you receive early access to our skills review process once our RTO partners are ready to begin assessments.
Is RPL the same as completing the course through study?
Yes, the outcome is identical. Recognition of Prior Learning assesses your existing expertise against the national standards. If a qualified assessor determines your evidence meets the requirements, you receive the same nationally recognised qualification as those who studied it.
What are the entry requirements for this Graduate Diploma?
Candidates typically enter this qualification with an undergraduate degree, an Advanced Diploma plus two years of experience, or five years of documented workplace experience including senior leadership and management responsibility in emergency management.
What happens if my evidence doesn't cover every unit?
If the assessor identifies areas where your evidence is insufficient, our RTO partners provide gap training. This is targeted learning designed to build on your existing foundation rather than requiring you to repeat what you already know.
