What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

Is an RPL qualification the same as one earned through full-time study?
Yes. A qualification achieved through Recognition of Prior Learning is issued by a Registered Training Organisation and carries the same national weight as one earned through classroom study. It recognises that you have already met the required competency standards through your professional experience.
What are the entry requirements for this Diploma?
To undertake the Diploma of Automotive Technology, you must typically hold a Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis or Overhauling, or be able to demonstrate an equivalent level of high-level technical competency through your professional history.
