About This Qualification
This qualification is a specialist wool classing qualification for Wool Classers and enables them to apply for registration with AWEX Ltd as a professional Australian Wool Classer. This qualification is suitable for an Australian Apprenticeship.

What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

Is an RPL qualification the same as one from full-time study?
Yes. The qualification issued through RPL is the same nationally recognised Certificate IV in Wool Classing (AHC41325) as one earned through traditional study. It carries the same weight with AWEX and industry employers.
Can I use this qualification for AWEX registration?
The Certificate IV in Wool Classing is the specialist qualification required to apply for registration with AWEX Ltd as a professional Australian Wool Classer.
How do I prove my skills if I have worked in many different sheds?
A combination of clip specifications, references from different growers or contractors, and photos of your work in the shed can all serve as evidence of your consistent competency across the industry.
What happens if I have gaps in my documentation?
If an assessor identifies areas where your evidence is insufficient, the RTO will provide targeted gap training. This allows you to complete only the specific units or tasks required rather than starting the entire qualification over.
