Could RPL Be Right for You?

Experience can be evidence.

RPL is the process that helps you demonstrate it.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a formal assessment process that evaluates the skills, knowledge, and experience you've gained through your career to determine whether you meet the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification. It isn't a shortcut — it applies the same assessment standards as any other pathway.

RPL typically involves:

📋

A review of your work experience against the qualification requirements

💼

Compilation of an evidence portfolio demonstrating your competency

👤

Assessment by a qualified assessor from a Registered Training Organisation

🎯

If gaps are identified, targeted training to build on your existing expertise

ℹ️ Important Pathway Advice

RPL isn't the right pathway for everyone. If you don't have substantial, relevant, and current industry experience, a traditional study pathway may serve you better.

Our approach:

“We'd rather guide you to the right pathway than enrol you in the wrong one.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about this qualification and RPL.

Is the Certificate IV in Printing and Graphic Arts Management currently available for RPL?
We are currently in the stage of identifying and establishing partnerships with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) that specialise in this qualification. While not yet available for immediate enrolment, registering your interest ensures you are the first to know when the pathway opens.
Why should I register my interest now?
Registering your interest allows us to gauge industry demand and expedite our partnership process with relevant RTOs. It also allows us to begin an informal review of your experience so you are well-prepared once the formal process begins.
Does my experience as a production supervisor count toward this qualification?
Yes. This qualification is designed for those who take responsibility for production flow and supervise others. Your lived experience in managing teams and troubleshooting printing problems is exactly the kind of evidence an assessor looks for.
Is RPL the same as completing a traditional course?
The outcome is identical. The qualification issued through RPL is the same nationally recognised certificate as one earned through study. The difference lies in the evidence: instead of learning new skills, you are demonstrating the skills you already possess.
What happens if my evidence doesn't cover all the units?
If an assessor identifies areas where your evidence is insufficient, gap training may be required. This is targeted learning designed to build on your existing foundation rather than making you start from scratch.
