This qualification allows for the attainment of competencies in Performance Based Contracting. No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.

What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

Is this qualification currently available for enrolment?
We are currently in the process of establishing partnerships with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) that specialise in Defence Training Packages. At this stage, we are accepting registrations of interest rather than active enrolments.
Why should I register my interest now?
Registering your interest allows us to notify you as soon as an RTO partner is secured. It also helps us demonstrate the demand for this specific qualification to our partners, potentially accelerating the availability of the RPL pathway.
Is RPL the same as studying for the Certificate IV?
No. Recognition of Prior Learning is an assessment process that validates the skills you have already acquired through your Defence career. It is about demonstrating existing competency rather than completing new units of study.
Does my ADF experience align with these units?
If your role involved establishing contract details, operating within performance hierarchies, or managing PBC fundamentals, your experience is highly relevant. The RPL process will help you document how your specific duties meet the national standard.
What happens if the assessor identifies gaps in my evidence?
If the RTO's qualified assessor identifies areas where your evidence doesn't fully cover the requirements, they will provide targeted gap training. This builds on your existing expertise rather than requiring you to start the qualification from scratch.
