What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

We are currently in the process of vetting and establishing partnerships with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) that specialise in creative arts. This ensures the assessment process is as rigorous and respected as your experience.
Why should I register my interest now?
Registering interest ensures you are the first to be notified when an RTO partner is secured. It also allows us to begin a preliminary review of your experience so you are well-positioned when the pathway opens.
Is RPL the same as completing a technical course?
No. While a course teaches you new skills, RPL recognises the skills you already possess. It is a formal assessment process where an RTO's qualified assessor evaluates your work history against national standards.
What if my experience is in a specific area like wardrobe or staging?
The Certificate IV in Live Production and Technical Services is designed to be flexible. We will guide you in gathering evidence that reflects your specific area of expertise, whether that is audio, lighting, sets, or costumes.
Do I need to be currently working in the industry?
To be successful in an RPL assessment, you generally need to provide evidence of recent industry practice. This ensures your technical skills and knowledge of current safety standards are up to date.
