About This Qualification
This qualification reflects the role of pharmacy technicians who work under the supervision of a pharmacist in a hospital or community setting. This may include pharmacies that are located outside of health services but supply medicines and products to hospitals and other health services.
Important: RPL It Australia is a student support service. All assessment and qualification issuance is conducted by the delivering Registered Training Organisation. RPL It does not deliver training, conduct assessments, or issue qualifications.

What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

Is this qualification currently available for RPL?
We are currently in the process of establishing partnerships with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) that specialise in health and pharmacy qualifications. While not currently active, registering your interest ensures you are notified the moment a pathway becomes available.
Why should I register my interest now?
Registering interest allows us to gauge demand and helps us prioritise which RTO partnerships to finalise first. You will receive updates on the availability of the pathway and be among the first to have your skills reviewed.
Is RPL the same as studying?
No. While traditional study focuses on learning new content, RPL is a process of assessing the skills you already possess. It treats your years of experience as evidence of competency, rather than requiring you to repeat training for things you already know.
What are the entry requirements for this Certificate IV?
Entry requires either the completion of a Certificate III in Hospital or Health Services Pharmacy Support, or at least one year of industry experience in a relevant hospital or community pharmacy role.
Does my experience in community pharmacy count?
Yes, experience in a community pharmacy setting can meet the entry requirements, provided your role involved the application of skills equivalent to the Certificate III level in pharmacy support.
How do I prove my 240 hours of workplace experience?
The qualification requires 240 hours of work in a hospital or health services pharmacy. This can be evidenced through previous employment records, logbooks, or a letter of verification from your supervising pharmacist.
