About This Qualification

This qualification reflects the role of those who work in youth and family intervention, including practice specialisations in family support. Workers operate under a broad supervision framework and within clearly defined organisational guidelines, service plans and position specifications. To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 120 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of units of competency. For those already working in the sector, these hours can often be evidenced through workplace logbooks, supervisor verification, or employment records that confirm your practical experience in a relevant setting.

What happens if my evidence doesn't cover every unit?▾

If the RTO's assessor identifies specific gaps in your evidence, they will provide targeted gap training. This allows you to complete only the necessary components without starting the entire qualification from scratch.

Who makes the final decision on my qualification?▾

Your evidence is formally evaluated by a qualified assessor from one of our partner RTOs. They make the independent professional judgement on whether your experience meets the national standards.
