About This Qualification
This is a general qualification for a person engaged in the rail infrastructure environment who performs tasks involving a broad range of skilled applications in a wide variety of contexts. It may involve application of some discretion and judgement in selecting equipment, services or contingency measures.
Important: RPL It Australia is a student support service. All assessment and qualification issuance is conducted by the delivering Registered Training Organisation. RPL It does not deliver training, conduct assessments, or issue qualifications.

What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

Is this qualification currently available for RPL?
We are currently in the process of establishing partnerships with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) who can deliver this specific rail infrastructure qualification. While not immediately available, registering your interest ensures you are notified the moment the pathway opens.

Is RPL the same as completing a rail training course?
No. Traditional training teaches you new skills, whereas RPL is a process of formal recognition for the skills you already possess. A qualified assessor reviews your evidence to determine if you meet the national standards without requiring you to repeat training.
Do I need a Certificate II in Rail Infrastructure first?
The entry requirements for this qualification specify either a Certificate II or relevant industry experience. If you have significant on-the-job experience in a rail infrastructure environment, we can help you determine if that experience meets the entry criteria.
Can I be recognised for specific rail specialisations?
