About This Qualification
This qualification describes the skills and knowledge for trade level roles carried out in the irrigation industry. Individuals with this qualification perform tasks under broad supervision involving a broad range of skills that are applied in a wide variety of contexts, which will involve discretion and judgement in selecting and operating equipment, coordinating resources and applying contingency measures during work.
Important: RPL It Australia is a student support service. All assessment and qualification issuance is conducted by the delivering Registered Training Organisation. RPL It does not deliver training, conduct assessments, or issue qualifications.

What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

Why should I register my interest?
By registering, you allow us to pre-evaluate your experience against the qualification requirements. This ensures you are well-positioned for a successful outcome as soon as our RTO partners begin accepting enrolments.
Is an RPL qualification the same as one from full-time study?
Yes. A qualification issued through Recognition of Prior Learning is identical to one earned through traditional study, as both require you to demonstrate the same national competency standards to a qualified assessor.
Can I use my experience with specific pump brands as evidence?
Absolutely. Documenting your ability to install, troubleshoot, and maintain specific irrigation pumps and controllers is excellent evidence of your technical proficiency in this trade.
What if I have experience in both agriculture and commercial landscaping?
Irrigation technology skills are highly transferable. Evidence from either sector; such as installing pressurised systems or monitoring soil; can be used to demonstrate your competency across the required units.
