About This Qualification
This qualification describes the skills and knowledge for supporting job roles in the horse or greyhound racing industry. It allows for specialisation in various roles, including stable hand (harness or thoroughbred), stud hand (breeding), track maintenance and racing administration. Individuals with this qualification carry out routine tasks under supervision where the work is predictable and structured with limited judgement requirements. Work must comply with work health and safety and environmental regulations and legislation that apply to the workplace. Licensing or registration requirements apply to this qualification in some states and territories. Users are advised to check with the relevant Principal Racing Authority for current requirements.
