About This Qualification
This qualification is intended to address the need for increased financial literacy and basic financial skills of entrants wishing to build potential pathways into the industry. Licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification considerations No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

We are currently in the process of establishing partnerships with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) that specialise in this qualification. While we cannot facilitate an assessment immediately, registering your interest ensures you are notified the moment the pathway becomes available.

Is an RPL qualification the same as one from full-time study?
Yes. A qualification earned through Recognition of Prior Learning is identical to one earned through traditional study. It is issued by a Registered Training Organisation and meets the same national standards; the only difference is how your competency is demonstrated.
What level of software experience is expected for this qualification?
The qualification focuses on basic business software applications. If you have experience using spreadsheets, digital communication tools, and data entry systems in a workplace, you likely have the foundation needed for this component of the assessment.
Does this qualification cover personal financial literacy?
Yes, it includes units related to understanding the Australian financial system, personal budgeting, and savings plans. If you have mentored others in these areas or managed these processes in a professional support role, that experience is highly relevant.
