About This Qualification

This qualification describes the skills and knowledge of a baker’s assistant working in a commercial baking environment. All work must be carried out to comply with workplace procedures, in accordance with State/Territory food safety, and work health and safety, regulations and legislation that apply to the workplace. No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

Is this qualification currently available through RPL It?

Is an RPL qualification the same as one from full-time study?
Yes. The qualification issued through recognition of prior learning is identical to one earned through classroom study. It is nationally recognised and meets the same Australian Quality Framework standards.
Do I need to prove food safety knowledge?
Yes, food safety is a core component of this qualification. You will need to demonstrate your ability to follow hygiene protocols and maintain a safe food environment through your documented work history.
Can I use experience from a bread-only bakery?
The qualification includes basic bread production as a core requirement. If your experience is focused primarily on bread, you are well-positioned to demonstrate competency in these specific units.
