Could RPL Be Right for You?

Experience can be evidence.

RPL is the process that helps you demonstrate it.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a formal assessment process that evaluates the skills, knowledge, and experience you've gained through your career to determine whether you meet the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification. It isn't a shortcut — it applies the same assessment standards as any other pathway.

RPL typically involves:

📋

A review of your work experience against the qualification requirements

💼

Compilation of an evidence portfolio demonstrating your competency

👤

Assessment by a qualified assessor from a Registered Training Organisation

🎯

If gaps are identified, targeted training to build on your existing expertise

ℹ️ Important Pathway Advice

RPL isn't the right pathway for everyone. If you don't have substantial, relevant, and current industry experience, a traditional study pathway may serve you better.

Our approach:

“We'd rather guide you to the right pathway than enrol you in the wrong one.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about this qualification and RPL.

Is this qualification currently available through RPL It?
We are currently in the process of establishing partnerships with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) for this specific qualification. While we cannot facilitate an assessment immediately, we are building the framework to support this pathway in the near future.
Why should I register my interest?
By registering, you ensure you are the first to know when an RTO partner is ready to accept applications. It also helps us demonstrate the demand for this qualification to our partners, potentially accelerating the availability of the RPL pathway.
Is an RPL qualification the same as one from full-time study?
Yes. A qualification achieved through Recognition of Prior Learning is identical to one earned through traditional study. It is issued by a Registered Training Organisation and meets the same national standards, as it assesses the same competencies.
Is this qualification suitable for experienced farm managers?
This is an entry-level Certificate I qualification designed for those starting their journey in agriculture. If you have significant experience or manage farm operations, we would recommend exploring higher-level qualifications, such as a Certificate III or IV, which may better reflect your expertise.
What happens if I have experience but no formal paperwork?
Recognition is about evidence, but evidence can take many forms. While formal paperwork is helpful, other proof such as photos of you performing tasks, statutory declarations from supervisors, or practical demonstrations can often be used to show your competency.
