About This Qualification
The PUA60719 Diploma of Public Safety (Community Safety) is designed for emergency service and public safety personnel who perform in senior management roles with responsibility for community safety programs. Community safety programs seek to build and enhance community resilience, health and wellbeing as it relates to feeling protected from threats, harm, risks or injury.
Important: RPL It Australia is a student support service. All assessment and qualification issuance is conducted by the delivering Registered Training Organisation. RPL It does not deliver training, conduct assessments, or issue qualifications.

What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

Is this qualification currently available for RPL?
We are currently in the process of establishing partnerships with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) that specialise in Public Safety. While not yet open for enrolment, we are preparing the framework for a robust recognition pathway.

Is RPL the same as studying for the Advanced Diploma?
No. Recognition of Prior Learning is an assessment of the expertise you have already mastered on the job. It treats your experience as evidence of competency, rather than requiring you to repeat learning you have already achieved.
What level of experience is required for this Advanced Diploma?
This is a high-level qualification. Candidates typically need to demonstrate strategic management experience, including responsibility for budgets, personnel, and the design of community-wide safety programs.
Will I need to provide evidence of multi-agency collaboration?
Yes. At this level, the assessment focuses on your ability to work across different agencies and local governments to deliver integrated community safety outcomes.
