What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

We are currently in the discovery phase for this qualification, establishing partnerships with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) who specialise in public sector assessment. By registering your interest, you will be notified as soon as we have a confirmed pathway for recognition.

Is RPL the same as completing a government training course?
RPL is an assessment-only pathway. Instead of attending classes to learn new material, you provide evidence that you already possess the competencies required by the national standard. It is a process of recognition for what you have already achieved in your career.
What if my government experience is in a regional or generalist role?
This qualification is specifically designed to suit those in diverse environments, such as regional councils or generalist agencies, where responsibilities are broad rather than narrowly specialised.
Can I seek recognition for specialist streams like Investigations or Fraud Control?
Yes, if your evidence demonstrates specific expertise in workplace inspection, investigations, or fraud control, we can guide you toward an RTO partner that offers these specialist streams within the Advanced Diploma.
